So, It's Here.

My Antique French Armoire just arrived.  It is beyond beautiful... and I'm pissed!  Like livid, murderess, beyond insane, pissed.  Why you ask?

Let me count the ways....

This would be the work of a white glove service, I wonder what a regular delivery company would have done.  It kills me that it made it 120 years in perfect condition, and now, it's ruined.  It's not like I can totally put it back together.  The yahoos didn't even keep all of the pieces they broke off.  There are a couple of relief carvings that are who knows where.  So although a little wood glue can fix some of it, it will always be incomplete now.  I am not a happy camper.

Say it with me people....

P-I-S-S-E-D.

Okay, well, I'm going to try and calm down, and stop using that word, although it's all that comes to mind at the moment.    I hope you all have a good weekend.  I know I will despite this travesty.  I'm meeting a new client tomorrow and I'm super excited about it.  I need to be seriously on my game.

Ok, 'til next week.

Have a good one all!

Nichole, there is a product called sculpy that you can mold and use to replace the pieces that were broken off, then you can paint it, it is a little tricky but with your eye, you will be able to do it. you will have to mix paint to mimic the finish color of the piece, that is the tricky part but my neighbor did it all the time even with stained pieces and you couldn't tell. you kinda sculpt the areas then I think you bake it and glue it on. If you have any questions, let me know I can put you in touch with her. She is knowledgeable about it. So sad that the movers did this to this beautiful piece.

Oh nooooooo! This is devastating! So sad for anything to be torn up in a move let alone something, like you said, that has made it for years in its condition only to be broken by a couple of yahoos who obvs are just careless and have no respect for a piece like this. So sorry.

Armoire aside, I hope you have a Merry Christmas, Nichole! Happy Holidays to you and yours!

xx
