The Dining Rug Choice

Know what this is?  No, it is not my new fur coat.   It is...

(at looong last)

... a close-up of the soon-to-be dining room rug (you'll see the bigger pic when it arrives) aka my very own massive, grey and white Yeti pelt.  Which as you may have already noticed is not ANY of the rugs we discussed here just last week.  In fact, this might have been a semi-impulse purchase...BUT, I think it's perfect, and I don't know why I didn't think of it sooner.  It's faux snow rabbit fur and has lovely grey fur mixed in with the white.  It will be unique and you know I love that.

Although, thick pile rugs are not typical in the Dining Room.  I DO want to show a few of you naysayers some successful (and lovely) forays into the land of fur and food.

via here although if someone knows the actual designer...please share,
as I did a search and came up with nada!

Cottages and Gardens, Madeline Weinrib

And, although it's not a rug...here are some freaking amazing seating options that are in keeping with the fuzzy theme today...

So there you have it.  My insanity has officially taken over my Dining Room.  It's only a matter of time before I infect the rest of the house too.  And, you know what, if after all this, it sucks in the Dining Room...I'll still have a fabulous, comfy rug to put elsewhere in the house.

I'll let you know when it gets here!

Where does one find a faux snow rabbit fur? Will it be big enough to fit under your table? I can't wait to see how this plays out.

Please be careful that you or your guests don't topple over because the high pile makes the chairs difficult to slide back. Call me the Voice of Experience.

Sorry- I love a lot of your design choices but not this one! I'd be concerned about practicality- not only difficulty of sliding chairs in a high pile rug, but at putting a high pile white rug under a table. No matter how elegant your guests are, there will be crumbs in that rug! Please report back your true thoughts on how it works out
