What's Up

Howdy do all.

SO here is a little something I picked up a couple of days ago.  It is a really cool pink chandelier.  Kinda kooky isn't it?  My husband says it looks like it could be the plant off "Little Shop of Horrors," even throwing in a "feeeeed me!" for fun.   I thought that was cute, and possibly a bit true.  It ain't your normal chandelier, that's for sure.  And, that son-of-a-gun is heavy due to the frosted glass petals/leaves/who knows what they are.  I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet. I'm toying with selling it...which brings up my next topic...

I'm contemplating opening up a little shop here in KC in one of the antique malls.  I haven't decided for sure yet.  I just know, I hated shipping and all that it entails (hence the closure of my Etsy shop,) and this would eliminate that issue completely.   Hmmmm, things to mull.

Moving on.  Here is something else I came across and have been refreshing the past few days...

This will be our breakfast nook table.  Which will be fantastic, because currently we have no where to eat our meals save the living room.  Which makes me a nervous wreck, because I can see the red sauce, or red wine, or god knows what else spilling in slow motion onto my white cowhide rug and/or velvet vintage sofa.  That would not be a good thing.  At all.  SOOOOO we will be happy to have a place to sit down and eat at soon, that doesn't hold my husband's life in the balance over marinara sauce.

Back to the actual table.  The table itself is metal except for the top which is halved bamboo shoots.  I loved the shape of the base, and the intricate metalwork  It was a bit rough to begin with, hence a fresh coat of black paint.  It came with the price-tag of $50.  You should have seen my husband and I grab it and run.

So, that's what's happening in these parts.  Have you come across any good deals as of late?  They always make me feel like I'm stealing something, only it's not illegal.  Gotta love that.

Oh, and I want to share this wonderful take on how not to decorate from Abigail Ahern.  It's spot on. If you don't read her already.  You should.

Hope it's lovely where you are today...have a good one.

Great finds!! I would put that chandelier in my daughter's room IMMEDIATELY! It is gorgeous... with just enough quirk.

I'll come to your store...where are the good flea/antique AND inexpensive stores in KC?? Don't open up in Mission Road antiques, too overwhelming...think Waldo or Brookside! I'd love it if you did a post for us local yokels about the good places to shop. I'm sure there are some gems I haven't discovered yet.
