Progress

Happy Friday to you!  So sorry for the delayed post.  I know I mentioned possibly sharing some of the progress made this week, and thought I might follow through on that.  Do judge too harshly, as the place is still in complete disarray, nothing is styled, it's just raw.  REALLY raw!

This is the sun room aka my future office.  Goodbye Circus Peanut baby poop color, hello clean and fresh white.  I can't tell you what a difference it has made as we have eradicated that god awful color room by room.  The main floor is almost completely painted (save the kitchen.)  It's finally starting to feel a little more like home.  Check out my campaign shelf that is overflowing with every vase/bowl/knick knack, I haven't found a place for yet.  Visible storage.  Hate that, but that's where we are right now.

Here is the Dining Room, with finished black trim.  Hallelujah!  It took for-evah to paint.  Still a wayward mirror, and what's left of the curtain rods that used to live here.  Those will be relocated today.  Quite a ways to go in this room still.

And, finally...I painted the fireplace black.  I placed my flea find picture up there, just so it's not bare.  We'll see what makes the cut in the end.  I'm super happy that I went black with it, but, there is a lot of brick.   I am planning on tiling the face to help keep it from being too much of a massive black box.  Here are a the frontrunners right now...
These are glass, crushed foil tile, and they are glam goodness.  BUT, we'll see.  I might just go with something a little more clean, and classic, like a good Carrara subway tile.

So that's what happening around the house right now.  Absolute mayhem, but, at least there is progress.   Have a spectacular weekend.  We will continue to work and get this house together.  But, it's good, we are making the house our own, and isn't that what it's all about?

Love! What is the white? I'm looking for a good one for my office! (and the dining room, for that matter.)

The flea maven looks lovely in her temporary home :)

WE had the same caca gold everywhere in our house too when we moved in. Sickening isn't it?

Everything is looking great! But if you don't tile your fireplace with the glass, crushed foil tile, I'm going to quit reading your blog. (JK)
It would look amazing!!!
