Dining Room Talk

So today I'm going to kick off dining room talk with some of my favorite spaces out there right now.   Interestingly enough they are all very different, but I do see some common threads.  Elements of black and white, being the most prominent.  A quirkiness.  A mixing of color, era, and material.  These are all things I feel make a unique and appealing space.

Speaking of my dining room, I'm going to let you in on a sneak peak of what it looks like in there since we started painting (we are in the midst aka ignore the awful primed trim) ...

Yes, that's right. Your eyes do not deceive. There are a multitude of white, kitty paw prints scattered across the floor.  We had a helper.  And, discovered it too late.  Luckily a bit of this stuff...

Should take care of the issue.  Thank goodness.  As much as I love those little paws, I'm not sure they make the best design statement.

Have a great Monday.  See you back here tomorrow to talk about dining tables.  Oh, boy!!!

The photo with the green chairs is in my inspiration file, too. I love the little pop of green and the mass of ginger jars is something I would like to replicate on a smaller scale. I always struggle with what to put on the dining room table-always having fresh flowers is not going to happen-this might mean I need to make a trip to China town!
Have a good day.

Dining room #3 & #4 are absolute gorgeous. Love love. Dining room #1 is lovely too, but it made me laugh.... that rug...can you imagine how many crumbs could hide in there?!

Too funny! Better than what I did which was hold the paint tray at an angle and paint ran all the way down my body and leg to the floor and onto the carpet...Yikes! yes it was a total mess. A chair sits in that spot currently. Luckily, we are removing the carpet and putting down hardwood floors!! Love the first pic!
