Sofa Saga Update

First, may I state for the record....

Money is flying out the door at an alarming rate.  We are officially (as my husband so graphically likes to say) hemorrhaging money.  To be expected when furnishing an entire house, but, it's hard to explain that to the hubby.  Or myself, when I look into the pocketbook an think ... where did it all gooooooo?  Up to no good, indeed.  A couple more of my bad girl purchases are shown below...

Heeeeere it is, in my living room (amongst the rubble.) Yep, I pulled the trigger and bought the "I'm no wall flower" fuchsia sofa. Along with a little silver spattered goodness...

Also, one of the next things on the list is a little bit of foyer lighting. You know, the foyer that will have the black trim?

Now, I know which one you all are going to say to get. But, I would love to keep things classic here, not necessarily go with the "in" thing. I've got all kinds of crazy happening elsewhere in the area. So, I'd like to have some grounding elements to keep it from going over the edge. We'll see which way I will fall. Who knows, I don't. But, I kinda like it that way. It keeps the design honest, and non-stuffy.

I still have a looooooong way to go in the living room alone, not even touching on the rest of the house.  I haven't even painted, but, as of today, all the boxes are unpacked and out of the living room, and I am elated.  Hopefully, the paint/etc. will be soon to follow.  I'm finally seeing some progress, and it feels good.

That sofa is gorgeous! So excited to see how you style it (totally agree with Mr. Goodwill Hunting). Being up to no good is fun, isn't it? :)

So happy about your new couch. I am sure it will be comfortable, as well as a conversation starter.

Both the light fixtures are lovely, but I like the one the right more. It will work so well with the glam of the black trim. Plus the other one would take away from the interest of the black trim.

I actually would choose the more classic light as well. And for the same reasons you said! I can't imagine trying to put together a whole house this fast. I've been in my home for 2.5 years and I have a dining room and an entry way "complete" and thats it! Decisions take time!

The chandelier on the left is my choice. Excellent design. Lovely!

Can't wait to see the design you pull together around that sofa.

Either light will look great. The one on the left makes my heart pitter patter, though!

Yay, it feels so good to make progress! I'm sure you'll pull everything together perfectly. I'm a fan of the 2nd chandelier (on the grey background) but it's hard not knowing what else is in the room! Have a good weekend!
