I like learning from different points of view in regards to design. It really gets me going when I come across someone with a strong style, someone who has something unique to bring to the table. I think Matrushka is the epitome of that. Equal parts glamour, rock and roll and straight up quirk, there is a definite 'against the grain' quality that is admirable. This is only one of the projects (aptly name "the Folly") featured on the site... I suggest you peruse the rest. There is a lot of fun to be had. Tell me, how does this type of design strike you?

It strikes me like a well-aimed blow to the head, and knocks me into a happy swoon!

Lilac and Grey
I love it (especially the tufted headboard!) but the kitchen seemed blah & out of place.
Like you Nichole, I learn a lot from those with a different aesthetic from mine. I really enjoy seeing how other people "mix it up" and clearly this home is a great collection of rock and roll sensibility AND some rustic elements. Very unique.
Hmm, can't say that I would choose this for myself, but I love to scrutinize the design style of other folks. And I think underneath it all the lesson here is that the beauty is in the mix!
I love this type of style...pops of color and eclectic...different styles mixed together for a unique and cozy look. I love the ceiling with rough wood against the elegant bed. Just my kind of thing.
It has its' own royal mood. I like it
