Diy Clock

So, not too long ago I posted about my collage wall (past and present) and in showing the wall I also showed my DIY clock.  I was asked how it came to be and since I had never gone into great detail about it, I thought I might share that today.  Here's a closer look below...

I had bought the actual clock mechanism several years ago on clearance at Target. It actually sat in the box for a couple of years before it made it to the wall in the loft. As you might guess Target no longer carries it (or anything like it,) I checked. BUT, I did try and find something similar and here it is...

I know it's not nearly as ornate as mine, but, I'm sure some of you would actually prefer the simplicity.  So moving on to what I used as "numbers" for my clock.  Those actually are still available, and come in several colors, although I preferred the white because I wanted to have a tone on tone feel, and I didn't want it to go juvenile on me.

Also, in addition to the flowers shown in my original version, I came up with some alternative "numbers" for you, just for good measure.  These would be a little bit of a investment, as they are porcelain and handmade.  But, then you would have a one of a kind piece of art to boot....

Aren't they lovely?  So delicate and pretty. Another fantastic option I found via Jen of Made By Girl and a piece she had in her old home...

You can just find some very small picture frames and fill them with whatever you like.   Also, here are some fantastic paper butterflies for a cheaper more organic option...

So, there you have it.  Maybe you can enjoy something similar in your home.  Any other ideas on what could be used? Do share.  Also, let me know if you try it, I would loooooove pics!  Good luck!
