I adore when there are unexpected twists in design. I would have originally thought that a flush mount light fixture of this size is only meant for the ceiling. This pic shows it ain't so. Not sure I would have the guts to do this specifically, but, I think it's really innovative. Talk about making a statement.
Would you be brave enough to try something like this? Or is this a little too kooky for you?

I don't think it's kooky at all. I have been wanting to do the opposite in a home. They have low ceilings & I reccomended a particular sconce mounted on the ceiling.
Now that's an idea- very cool...not necessarily something I'd pick but I love that they were brave enough to do it and they look great in that space.
I think it looks great in that space! it would have to be the right fixture in the right space for me to do it

Awww, Katie...so glad you found your way back! And thanks so much for bringing this little blog to 400! ( =
Huh. Well, go figure, I would have thought to put that on a wall before a ceiling! Things that look highly designed to me go on walls. And that is why I am NOT an interior designer. ;)
I actually just put the smaller version on this on one of my walls. Totally love it!
I love that it was a flush mount that was put up as a sconce. It's sculptural and beautiful.....
Very cool!! Love the fixtures used this way!
xx
Uhhhh! I am dying! Those are gorgeous! xoxo e&a
