Has anyone else been watching the Fabulous Beekman Boys? We started watching last season and it is such a fun little reality show that centers around two city dwellers who bought a farm (complete with goats) in the Catskills in order build their own brand of healthy, seasonal living. Some of the scenarios they find themselves in are really hilarious. My hubby and I find glimpses of our own personalities in these guys, which makes them even more charming and endearing to us. If you get a chance, check it out on Planet Green.
So, the reason I am giving you background on these guys is, last week, I was so excited to have the opportunity to visit the Beekman 1802 Mercantile up in Sharon Springs, NY (on our way up to Cooperstown, NY.) It is a small little shop to be sure, but it was fun to be able to see (and smell) the fruits of these two gentlemans' labors.
I am in love with this decrepit mirror. It is such a fantastic touch, and got my mind thinking about how it recreate it. I love that the backing protecting the mirror has been peeled off, letting light slip through the cracks.
These sweet pedestal plates were made, I'm told, by Brent's Mother.
The soaps smelled wonderful and there to the right are heirloom seeds in brightly colored, vintage inspired packages.
Here are t-shirts bearing the likeness of Mr. William Beekman, as well as heirloom linens.
Totally loving the old painted buffet turned checkout counter. What a wonderful way to re-purpose and update such a lovely piece.
Below, you will find a few more of their offerings in the online shop.
