Making a JuJu? Would YuYu?

Hmmmmm, I LOVE me some Juju Hats.  I HATE me some Juju Hat prices!  What to do, what to do?  Make one myself?  Maybe.  At least something similar?  Why not.  It doesn't look like rocket science.  It won't be a functioning "hat" but, I bet I can get close to the look... I think.  I love a good challenge anyway.  Nothing me and my glue gun can't tackle.  Ha, famous last words. What do you think?  Is this trend looong gone...or not.   Maybe I shouldn't care if the "trend" is over.  If I like it, I like it!  I'm feeling a little nervous about undertaking this sort of challenge...but, you know...what the heck.  $300-$600 (or more) just ain't in the budget right now, and I'm not a patient person.  I think I may just go ahead and pull the trigger and order a million feathers and see what I can do.  I just can't decide on a color.  Of course, the hot pink one is my fav.  But, I don't think I need anymore color in my home (we don't need a kids bedroom as a living room.)  I'm liking a velvety grey color.  Thoughts?  Anyone?

Hey! I'm new to your blog...and I love it! Saw your lovely new piece on Simply Grove. I think you should definitely go ahead and make a JuJu! Velvety grey would be lovely! Please update us if you end up doing it!

I love the JuJu tootoo— and was having the same thought as youyou! (I'm channeling Dr. Seuss all of a sudden). For attachment I was wondering if you might just be able to stick the feathers in a base made of clay that will air harden. What bird are the feathers from? Too bad we can't turn one over to examine. Good luck.

No, I haven't made one yet. I'm not sure I'm going to either. I did a lot of pricing on the feathers, and holy, moly...for the amount I would need it would be waaaaaay more $$$ than I thought. I'm still tossing the idea around, and have not buried it yet...but, since I just moved, I have a lot of other much more pressing projects that I need to attend to first. Thanks though for asking! Maybe someday!

Hi I just found your blog, and I'm loving Jujus still. I also wanted to let one of the commenter know that I heard that the feathers where chicken feather, though I might be wrong. Love you blog.....Count me as a new follower!

You are correct. They are chicken feathers. More specifically Rooster feathers. So glad you found the blog. Welcome!!!
