Secrets From a Stylist
All I can say about Emily Henderson, and Secrets from a Stylist on HGTV is Halle-freakin-lujah! Finally, there is a much needed fresh and young design perspective represented on the network. I loved how she incorporated the use of new and old. I especially can appreciate how she represents her client in her space, and not just herself as a designer.
I think as a designer, that is hard thing to cultivate. Not to let too much of yourself creep into a project for each different client. Or, maybe you just let different parts of yourself that compliment your clients aesthetic creep in as needed. I feel that's one of the best things about designing. It's like trying on different dresses. All are inspiring in some way or another, and provide an outlet for each facet of your personality. Casual, fun, elegant, formal, colorful, graceful, comfortable...etc. I guess it's just unlocking those facets, and giving the best of yourself for each specific job. She did that seamlessly. SO, in conclusion. I give the show and her designs, two enthusiastic thumbs up. I truly do look forward to her next installment. Did you watch? What did you think?
