KC Home

Alrighty, I know I have been borrowing heavily from Apartment Therapy as of late...but, this is the last one for a while...I promise. I have an excuse though.  Not only do I love how this house was put together, but, it is from a area called Brookside in my hometown of Kansas City, MO.  So it is near and dear to my heart.  In fact, if I had a choice of anywhere I would be able to live...it would be there!  Home is calling me from this tour...anyway, before I get all weepy, let's move on to the pics.

Drama is screaming from every corner in this house it seems.  The mix of eras they have collected and melded together seamlessly is wonderful.  Once again, a collage wall of pictures.  If you look closely, you can see how quirky the subject matter of the artwork is.  The owner definitely has a sense of humor.  I know a certain friend of mine who would kill for the white antler chandelier.  I would love to see a little more in the dining room...perhaps a rug...and the black sheers would have to go.  But, it's not my home.

If my friend would kill for the antler chandelier...this would be the item I would kill over.  I have been looking for an amazing cuckoo clock like this forever.  I know that Urban Outfitters used to carry one...but, no more...plus it was tiny.  I want a substantial one.  I'm thinking of just finding a regular old wood one and painting it.  I mean why not?  I paint everything else.

This pic below is so fantastic!  LOVE the wall of mobster mug shots. That is something you don't see every day.  I would have totally blown those up and used them as a focal point.  But, the idea is phenomenal!

Kinda, sad but, I think this is my favorite of all.  Kitties always make a home better.  Look behind him though at the artwork.  Check out the chick in the gas mask.  Random...but, in a good way.  I love when artwork makes me laugh...even from a "what the in the world" kind of way.  I mean where did they dig up this stuff?

I grew up in Kansas City too! But on the Kansas side, still that is a crazy coincidence! I love the homes in Brookside as well, this one is lovely. Congrats on the new site, keep up the good work! KC Represent ;)!
