Inspired

After I did that post on how hot Suzani prints are right now...I was thumbing through my current Elle Decor, and low and behold, came across this...

Madelaine Weinrib's version of Suzani. I loved the colors so much I thought..."Wow, that would look good on my walls"...so I went for it. A little child-like for sure...but, I wanted to maintain the simplicity of the print (plus, paint has never been my best medium.) I already had a canvas primed in black, so I kept that and just reversed the colors. I would have like to have kept it a little lighter but, my walls are ALL white and I didn't want it to fade into them. It will be a nice addition to the black and white of my apartment. I need a little color in here.

You did a phenomenal job! I really admire your creative ability to translate a print you love into a one of a kind piece of art. I also really like the contrast of the black against your stunning white painted brick wall. Perfect!
