Well, people. I have some news. After long last, the people on high have send the word down, that we are moving. I am thrilled and scared to death all at once. Where are we moving? Hoboken, NJ. It is directly across the Hudson from NYC. A ten minute commute, and I'm in Midtown, Manhattan. We were there this last weekend. I think it is going to be really amazing. My hubby will be working in Newark, which is why we won't be living IN the city of NYC. But, I'm still super close, and have a fantastic view of the skyline from across the river.

So, over the next month or two, we will be looking for an apartment, and moving up to good ol' Jersey (insert your best Jersey accent here.) I will share it all. So there it is...our big news. I hope we can find a place to plug in. You know, a niche. Find people like us, and make friends. That's always a big worry of mine. If there's anyone in the area up there...maybe you can give me some pointers on the whole apartment/renting process up there. Or, just any pointers in general, would be welcomed. So, here we go. We have quite the adventure in front of us. Can't wait to start.

How exciting!

Hoboken is a great area. Loads to do, close to the city but far enough away that its a different feel.

Congrats. You'll love it.

Hooray! I'm a Jersey girl (parents still live in Ridgewood) and I feel as though a quarter of my high school class lives in Hoboken and takes the PATH into the city every day. You will love it...it's hip and fun with a little more thrift.

Have you shopped in Paramus before? My NYC aunt comes out from Manhattan a few times a month to shop in NJ (no tax on clothing!) and she loves Paramus. It's a traffic nightmare, but it's a shopping mecca!

How exciting! When we moved from Chicago to Boston 13 years ago it was exciting and scary at the same time. Just have fun, you'll love it!

Congratulations! I can actually give you some pointers! My boyfriend used to live in Hoboken, NJ [grew up there] and than we moved about 45 minutes away a little up north in jersey. It is extrememly expensive to live in Hoboken so keep it in mind. I love it there and would so move there in a hearbeat but we can not afford it. If you have a car DEFINATELY get a membership or something to a parking garage because no matter what time of day, parking in hoboken is RIDICULOUS and if its late at night [especially on weekends] you will not find parking for an hour or so. There are parking garages all over Hoboken so that won't be a problem you will just have to pay for that guarenteed spot but I assure you, it is WELL worth it. That is really the best tip I can give you in regards to Hoboken. They have great shops, great food, great bars, even great gyms. If you want me to recommend anything to you I can help you with that too :) I love Hoboken and know it like the back of my hand! Congrats again!
