A Little Imagination.

This pair of taper candle holders just goes to show that you can find the most wonderful things in things that look like junk. It just takes a little imagination. These originally looked like they were meant for a landfill. They are super heavy metal. The feet looked like they had been submerged in water for quite some time. They had calcium deposits, and were badly discolored and rough. None of the crystals were left. They looked awful. I really need to start taking the before pics. Seriously! Anyway, I decided that white would be nice, because the color would show the light, and shadows of the detail on the base. Next, I found and ordered some opaque white prisms, connected with silver little bow ties. I am satisfied with the end result. Sometimes, on certain pieces, I feel like I have fulfilled their potential. These fall under that category. Just look a little closer when you see that random piece of junk. You never know, when, with a little tweaking, a treasure might be found instead.

Those taper candle holders are beautiful. There is so much that you can do with things that some people think are junk. I love old things they were just made soooooo much better and with a little love and care and your imagination you would be surprised how good somethig can look.

I love these. Did you use spray paint or hand paint it with brush/foam? Also, did you put any poly on top of the paint?
